This company operates under multiple names — at least three or four — including All Canadian Moving Van Lines. Before I knew they used different aliases, I hired them to move my belongings from Smiths Falls, Ontario to New Brunswick. My items never arrived.

They ghosted me. Communication was non-existent. I filed a police report, and both law enforcement and my insurance company have classified my belongings as stolen.

I had packed everything with them — including essential work-related items — and now I’m forced to replace tools I need for my job. Some personal items are irreplaceable, no matter how good your insurance is.

STAY AWAY. They will take your money, your property, and disappear. I’m grateful I had insurance, but no one should have to go through this. This happened between Sept and Oct 2025

My recent experience with Cedar Strong Transportation was an absolute nightmare from start to finish. I booked them to handle my move from Toronto to Montreal, and what should have been a straightforward process turned into an incredibly stressful ordeal.

Lack of Punctuality and Delays:

Despite a confirmed pickup time of 3 PM to 5 PM, the movers didn’t arrive until 6 PM, leaving me waiting and anxious with no communication about their delay. When it came time for delivery the next day, I experienced yet another significant delay, which disrupted my plans and left me stranded, waiting without any clear idea of when my belongings would arrive.

Non-Responsive and Unprofessional Communication:

Throughout this process, Cedar Strong Transportation was shockingly unresponsive. They didn’t pick up calls or respond to inquiries when I was desperate for updates. The driver would call but would intentionally hide their number, making it impossible for me to reach them back. This lack of transparency and basic customer service was frustrating and unprofessional.

Unexpected Extra Charges and Hidden Fees:

As if the delays weren’t enough, I was charged an additional $200 because my unit was “a little away from the entrance.” This extra fee was never disclosed upfront, and it felt like they were just trying to take advantage of the situation. Had I known about this charge in advance, I could have made alternative arrangements. The surprise fee, combined with their unreliable service, felt extremely unfair.

Emotional Stress and Anxiety:

The entire experience was mentally exhausting and anxiety-inducing. From the delays to the lack of communication, I found myself constantly stressed, not knowing when or if my belongings would be safely delivered. I’ve moved before and understand that things can go wrong, but Cedar Strong Transportation’s lack of professionalism made this experience far worse than necessary.

I would strongly advise anyone considering them for moving services to look elsewhere. They do not prioritize customer satisfaction, lack basic responsiveness, and seem more interested in adding hidden fees than providing reliable service. If you want a smooth, stress-free move, avoid Cedar Strong Transportation at all costs!

Used them for a move. The driver Laith Al-Quran phone number 1-647-570-9820 is a croik. Was quoted for 2000 lbs but as soon as he got the frig washer and dryer loaded he informed me it would cost around 400 dollars more. If we don't pay he will be taking our belongings to there storage and we will be charged. Spoke to Sam at head office. No use they are useless. Made a complaint with BBB they said not the first time there rating is not great. Beware of using them especially if you are a Senior

After speaking with Dana I felt I had chosen the best company for my move. However , that turned out to be a mistake. I moved April 3rd and it is now May 18th.

I was to have had three men and got 1 1/2. They started at 9 in the morning and didn't finish until 9:30 at night. Twelve hours to move a small two bedroom apartment of a recent widow. Really??

My furniture was left out in a snow/rain storm uncovered. Framed pictures were not covered and as a result received water damage. My buffet was dropped and broken. It is not possible to be repaired. Mattresses were left out in the rain uncovered.

The mover said I was over 6000lbs and charged me an extra $800. I did not have any appliances, just a small two bedroom apartment so there was no way I could possibly be over in weight. He said he was estimating and if I wanted him to go to a weigh station he would go back to Mississauga and I would have to pay for the mileage and cost to have it weighed.

There was damage done to the walls of the unit I was moving into.

I asked them to move a tall narrow cabinet from one wall to another and they said they were too tired!!

We were accused of stealing the metal bar from the used wardrobe box and charged me $25. to put my own clothes in it. Then they wanted to leave the well used wardrobe for me to dispose of.

I was charged $300 because the elevator was down a long hall from my unit, however there was one small flight of stairs directly across from my unit.

I have contacted the moving company on several occasions , have filled out the necessary claim forms and to date have heard nothing.

I was quoted approximately $1800 for the move and ended up with a bill of over $2800.

Dana was a lovely lady but unfortunately the company she works for is completely untrustworthy. Do not use at any cost !!!

Let me preface that my husband and I have moved 5 times in the past 10 years for work. This was by far the worst move. The movers were not professional at all. Thankfully, Samantha (who left company) gave us plenty of information ahead of the move. She said the movers will try and up the weight of the move with the flat rate, so to ask for the truck to be weighed. Sure enough the movers said the weight would be 7-8 thousand lbs and not the 5000 estimated. The weight actually came in at 5600. By asking for the truck to be weighed and not going with the flat rate of 7-8000 lbs we paid $40, but ended up saving hundreds. I followed the directions and booked our move from 2-6 pm. The drivers arrived 3 hours late, but said they could finish the move by 6 pm. They didn’t finish until 9 pm, so I had to pay our condo for the extra 3 hours.

My husband and I did the packing although we paid $45 ea. for 3 garment boxes that they would pack, for our good clothing and winter clothing. We also paid for our new sofa, and mattresses to be covered. There was also 1 box they packed. We had a bed to be taken apart and they needed to borrow our tools because they didn’t bring any. They also duct taped a lot of things together.

We moved from Montreal to Oakville. We were offered 6 weeks of free climate controlled storage.

When we found our new condo in Oakville, we scheduled the move into the building. The only time available for the move in was the afternoon. I explained this to the scheduler at Cedar Strong and she said it would cost an extra $50 to do an afternoon move. I explained politely that this would not be happening as I followed their instructions for the move in and the

movers didn’t follow it and cost me an extra $120. So they arrived at 1:30 pm and before the move in started they gave us 3 different prices for the move. $2100 for cash and no receipt (needed for insurance), $2400+ for debit and 2600+ for credit card. We paid $2500 and got the receipt. Then the move started.

Crushed boxes, broken boxes, our live edge wood dining table wrapped in a soaking wet dirty moving blanket, the inside of the plastic cover of our chaise section of our sofa was covered in mud, possible rodent urine and had soaked completely into the fabric of our 2 month old sofa. Our wood coffee table was cracked open, dining room table has water damage, my box of very fragile crystal and China which I packed with bubble wrap (and labeled as very fragile) was crushed under the weight of much heavier boxes. There was absolutely no attention to marked boxes at either end. We have missing items, for instance a large Mexican ceramic floor vase which was very well wrapped in bubble wrap. As for the garment boxes, they placed my stained glass lampshade upside down inside at the bottom of the box and filled it with my shoes, boots, then laid my good dresses and my husbands suits on top of it and finally piled the heavy winter clothing on the top. The hanger bar was removed and they folded the top of the box over and duct taped it. Needless to say the lampshade was completely bent and the metal structure is broken. More of the same was done with the other 2 garment boxes. Items just thrown in. No regard or respect to our personal property. And they charged us $45 + packing fees per box.

My heart and sole were crushed many times over unpacking the boxes. My antique Johnson Bros. gravy boat that was my great grandmothers. My Lennox swan with 24 carat around the edges smashed. The list goes on and on.

We contacted cedar strong many times that day. They sent claims forms. My husband and I filled it out with approximately 30 photos (which I can send to anyone interested) and the wait began. According to the office there is only 1 claims person (because they don’t have many claims) and they only look at claims on Saturdays. We were told my Michael to send our claim immediately and they would put it as a priority. Well, this didn’t happen. I think it was around 3 weeks later that my husband received an email. The email stated that because of what we went through they made an exception and that after the $500 deductible they determined the final settlement to be $225. Another shock to the system. This wouldn’t even cover the cost of attempting to clean the sofa. My husband even asked them to come and see the damage first hand. The pictures don’t even show the full extent of the damage.

The letter said we could contact them, which we have several times and were told that the claims person would call the past 2-3 Saturdays and no one has. I wish I could attach pictures, but I can’t.

My husband wrote a review but it has been removed. I’m sure this one will too. I’ve left reviews on the Better Business Bureau even though they aren’t registered.

Just a horrible moving experience

Horrible experience.

Paid for premium service. Showed up at 1030am to pack and move a house

Packed random stuff in wardrobe boxes and did not wrap it. Boxes weren’t marked.

Did not pack everything in the house, left a lot of stuff behind. Did not bring enough boxes.

Left by 6 pm .

Was supposed to have a weight taken of the truck before and then a weight taken of the truck with the household belongings in it. The driver gave me a slip of the truck weight from the weekend before ( must have had another customers household in it)

Wanted more money when they delivered to new location. Holding household items hostage on truck (which is against the law) . Threatened to charge $100 per hour x 3 men until the new money was paid.

Emailed several times and asked for reciept, still haven’t been given one.

Had to make arrangements to the rest of household items moved.

Move size: 4 Bedroom Home Service cost: $4800

I'd been moving for years from one house to another during summer within the same city with other movers. As you may imagin, moving was an extremely stressful mission.

When I had to move interprovincially during the holidays, I thought this was going to be even harder than what I used to.

On the contrary، all of the crew members in Cedar Strong Transportation were caring and professional, every person I dealt with was so friendly and patient, starting from KC, Michael, Alex & layth.

Nothing was lost or damaged during the long distance from Quebec to Ontario, all of the steps were arranged and designed to provide the utmost safety and interest of their clients, & the price was reasonable and affordable.

I strongly recommend Cedar Strong Transportation & when I will relocate again, I will never think twice before calling them.

The move

- Pro - The movers arrived on time for pick up

- CON - The movers damaged property on the move, one new mattress was damaged and the sofa was scratched in several places

- CON - The truck also had a pungent odour which stuck on the furniture way after the move

- CON - The drop off was hastily done with boxes dumbed in two spots in the house

The packing/unpacking

- CON - The movers were unprofessional in their packing/unpacking. In one box I found bedsheets and shampoo packed together. Inevitably, the shampoo and other liquids leaked.

- CON - They merely unpacked 40 % of the boxes because they ran out of time (it was 11 pm by the time we asked them to go, we had kids who needed to sleep). This was a result of their failure to abide by my drop off date.

Booking

- PRO - The booking was easy and the admin, Samantha, was professional and pleasant

- CON - The contract was sent to the wrong email, which entailed wrong information about the drop off date that I only found out about on the day of the move.

- CON - Initially I scheduled the drop off delivery on the 2nd, but the day of the move they claimed that they were all booked and had to drop off on the 1st . They came on the 1st at 5 pm, which did not give them time to do the full unpacking or to place items in the right place.

In conclusion, the company did not deliver the service we paid for. When we were trying to unpack with them as quickly as possible to empty boxes so that they can take them, one of the guys said “why don’t you want to keep the boxes, you have allergies from boxes!” Overall, unprofessional and lazy!

I also left my belongings inside their storages for almost two weeks. Everything delivered back to me in mint condition this morning.

I also had Alex help me resassemble my bed in less than 10 min which was part of the quote.

I recently moved from Montreal to Toronto and used Cedar Moving for my move—twice! I couldn’t be happier with the experience. Their service was professional, efficient, and truly stress-free. My belongings arrived safely and intact, all within one day.

First of all, let me say that my wife and I chose to decline the insurance money that Cedar Strong offered after we found out that if we accepted, we would legally give up our right to review their services. We decided that we would rather prevent others the hardship of dealing with Cedar Strong than accept their offer. The fact that settled insurance claims means that negative reviews are far less likely to appear is also likely why Cedar Strong's ratings are as high as they are.

Our move resulted in significant damages to our goods. Our dining room table sustained water damage (despite the fact that it was stored in a climate-controlled facility it arrived wrapped in a water saturated blanket - on a day when it was not raining). We had a coffee table that was ruined because it was probably dropped . Our brand-new sofa somehow arrived severely soiled and carrying a very foul odor (similar to animal urine) - despite the fact it was wrapped in plastic and store in a "climate controlled environment". Several of our glassware items were also broken and damages to smaller items were common.

Obviously, we filed an insurance claim. What we learned was that Cedar Strong offers the minimal insurance permissible by law. Effectively their insurance calculation is based on 60 cents per pound of damage done. Therefore, if they break a 55-inch TV that weighs 35 pounds, their insurance will re-imburse you $21. The insurance is not based on the value of the damaged goods, rather the weight of the item. There is also a $500 deductible on any claim. We became aware of this after they initially offered to settle our claim for $225 (keeping in mind that they damaged (or lost) at least $4,000 worth of our property).

The claims process was also exceptionally laborious. We filled out the required paperwork and submitted dozens of photos. Phone calls to address the claim went mostly unreturned and eventually calls from my phone number were simply not being answered. They refused to discuss what went wrong with the move. They simply were not willing to take any accountability. This process took months and likely close to 100 phone calls.

Cedar Strong also does not follow best practices in moving. As mentioned, they did not do an inventory of what was being moved. In all of our other moves, the companies did inventories of the items or number of boxes moved. This ensures that items are not lost in the process. Cedar Strong did not do this, as a result we simply had items disappear ranging from a very large Mexican style ceramic vase (approximately 3 feet tall and impossible to overlook) to everyday items that we are still realizing are lost (most recently our winter boots - which we just had a need to use with the first snow of the year).

The movers themselves were inexperienced. I actually had to disassemble one of our beds because their experts did not know how to. They did not wrap all of our furniture in blankets as was agreed (resulting in several scratches on items) and did not properly package the specialty wardrobe boxes we paid extra for.

The movers showed up three hours late and were not able to complete the loading processing within the moving window we were assigned by our condo - resulting in fines for us to pay. The movers showed up without tools to help them disassemble furniture and had to borrow my tools.

We were charged a hidden fee because the loaders had to walk further than expected (despite the fact that they parked in a location of their choosing when they could have been closer). They tried to have us accept their estimate as to the weight of our load. We refused this and later found out that their estimate was close to 2000 pounds more than the scaled amount. This would have resulted in additional costs to us.

The unloading process showed no sign of care for our clearly marked fragile items. Heavy boxes were thrown on top of boxes marked fragile. When it came time for payment we were offered a cash option, but only if we did not take any paperwork.

During our unpacking process there we a lot of tears and frustration as we realized that our belongings were not treated with any sense of care or respect. Family heirlooms that cannot be replaced were broken and when we tried to express our concerns to the company we were treated like pariahs - they simply refused to discuss how this level of damage could have occurred.

Cedar Strong will likely say that they did offer us a settlement for our damages based on the formula they use. However, the reality is that we were taken by what appeared to be good reviews for the company and then provided with services and professionalism that is far below anyone's standards.

It would have been easier for us to have simply taken the small settlement that Cedar Strong offered us, but we would rather refuse their offer and retain our right to provide an honest review of our experience with them.

Moved from on town to another town was quoted for under 2000.00 but had to pay 3000.00 for damages done to my belongings, attitudes from both the office and movers. told me we had 15000lbs of belongings which we didnt, there truck isnt rated for 15k, so they lied to us about the weight, truck wasnt full, and still had over half of my household goods left behind. Dana in the office was rude and the movers were rude, we warned them about fragile boxes but ignored them and there driving is amatuerish, dont know how they got a drivers license maybe from a crakerjack box. then they accuse us of not paying the full amount. no receipt was given after we paid an awful amount of money for there unprofessional service.

I needed a moving company to haul my stuff to and from the apartment and hold it in storage. Dana who I spoke with clearly communicated the options. I felt supported and reassured that my stuff was going to be in good hands and the move would not add to my stress.

Luke who came to move my stuff was professional, quick and fully equipped to do the job. I felt assured watching him wrap my stuff for storage. He clearly explained the form to sign before he hauled my stuff.

Move size: Studio Service cost: $680

Showed up at 5pm on day of move and took until midnight to load. Did not wrap ANYTHING after telling us they do, shoved expensive lamps and miscellaneous items in a wardrobe box causing an expensive lamp to have a chunk out of the base. Told us it would cost $20 extra per mattress to put in a bag. Only 2 “guys” came when told there’d be 3, one didn’t speak English. The guys they sent were not professional or experienced. It was like having your teen son’s buddies move you. Scraped door frames, damaged 2 dining room chairs (the dining set cost $10k!), big gouge on a nightstand, broken wine glasses that were CLEARLY marked! Glass and metal coffee table scratched in several places, hole in expensive mattress, stacked boxes CLEARLY marked HEAVY on top of boxes CLEARLY marked fragile. Could not get our sofa through the door so said they had to take it apart. I told them to leave it on the deck and my husband would deal with it (which took him all of 3 minutes to do), couldn’t get our treadmill through the same door, my husband had no issues. Wadded up packing tape left everywhere. I emailed the company several times, included pictures of all the damage and have not heard a single word back. DO NOT USE THIS BAD EXCUSE FOR A MOVING COMPANY. THEY DAMAGE YOUR BELONGINGS, do not employ skilled movers and just plain don’t care once they have your money. Oh, and they refuse to unload your belongings until you pay in full, either by etransfer or cash only! I have clear pictures of all the damage. We were so upset that we couldn’t talk about it for a few weeks! BEWARE!!

I'm not sure about the other reviews about being there on time and getting a job done. My experience is completely the opposite. I booked two weeks in advance that we will be moving on August 26th around 5 pm, and Michael called me on August 26th morning saying that their truck has a minor collision, and they can only pick up my stuff on the 30th, which is four days after the scheduled date. This was very annoying and disappointing as I already packed all my stuff according to this schedule.

However I chose to trust them one time, I rescheduled my bus ticket and a lot of other things to accommodate for the 30th. On that day, they said they will come from 3 to 5 PM I waited till 9 PM when the Driver told me that the truck is full and they can no longer take my stuff. Because my lease is ending on the 31st, I had to move everything out of my apartment to my friend's place out of emergency and stayed there for several nights. I also had to miss my bus ticket which cost me another $100. Michael wouldn't even answer my phone and refund me in the next few days until I told them that if they don't refund the deposit I will call the police.

This is almost fraudulent, but I wouldn't call it as they were not capable of holding my deposit. They are just very incompetent in terms of scheduling, and they have no honesty since they break promises so easily. Avoid this company at all costs.
